Recently I started a 2 week challenge called the IDGAS game, launched by a dear friend of mine Robert Macphee. Which stands for I don’t give a sh–. And I know this may sound odd, or harsh, but the idea is that we move forward in face of our fears.
We move forward with our intentions towards our dreams and goals regardless of what another may or may not think. And I have to admit at first when I said IDGAS I Knew in the back of my mind I really I did care what people think. More than the average bear…. I have for most of my life played by the rules of others, did things to not ruffle feathers. And said yes to a volunteer projects or to assist another more times than my heart really desired to be a part of it. I realized each time I did this a small part of me died and in these situations I did not give my all, as a part of me was resenting being there, resenting myself for saying yes.
Each day as I have played this game I realize it has been such an opportunity to look into my own actions, and the way I show up to this much bigger game called life. And to re-evaulate the way I show up. And to start saying yes or no to what I am truly called to do. And to feel confident doing so, knowing that each time I step into my true and authentic nature I allow others around me to do so as well! And so today, I am grateful for this wonderful opportunity to stretch and to grow beyond my comfort zone, and I invite you to take a look at your goals and intentions and see how you can step forward and move beyond what others may or may not think of you or of your goals. And to move forward with love in the direction of your dreams!
Elizabeth,
Is n’t it great when we have those Aha moments in life that allow us to stretch and grow within? Thank you for the reminder to not care what others think. We must be confident in our own selves to know that as Terry Cole Whittaker says, “What you think of me, is none of my business.”
All the best,
Jeanette
