When was the last time you did something for the first time?

So often our days are filled with routine activities a typical day may look like: Wake up after hitting the snooze button a few times, get ready, work, eat, take care of the kids, chores/laundry, make dinner, wind down, and get some sleep. Whew!

How often do we take the time to step out of the box and do something that is completely new, something that at first glance may seem a bit scary, or foreign to us?  Yet, deep down we know that we take chances or step outside of our box, we know it will stretch us and cause us to grow and expand.

Last week, I decided to do something that scared the bageebers out of me! I sang in front of people! No, not in my car or in my shower but in front of an audience, people that actually had a pulse! HA! And I have to admit that I was terrified and excited at the same time.  In the end I did it. I may not sound like Jana Stanfield, but I sang! The song I choose is, “If I were brave” by Jana Stanfield, one of my favorite musicians. (I have attached her you tube video to share the amazing lyrics with you! ) And the lyrics could not have summed up my experience any better, the song asks what would I today, if I were brave? In the end I know I did something that caused me to grow. If I can sing in front of others and survive, surely I can do the next thing that my soul is calling me to do!

What new experience has your name written all over it? What is your soul calling you to do today?

Each time you step out and do something new you grow, and as you grow you cause those around you to grow and see the possibilities!

Wow! Really when I think about it, that is possibly be one of the most scariest things that I could do. I wonder if that is reason enough that I should do it myself… Congratulations!
